SS7/C7 & SIGTRAN
TITAN supports multiple addressing and routing applications (TITAN Services) that can be licensed and configured separately to meet the changing needs of carriers and operators working in converged, portability-corrected signaling environments. SS7/C7-based communications platforms access a broad set of addressing and routing services on TITAN via a high-speed SIGTRAN (M3UA) interface. Supported services include:
Advanced Intelligent Network (AIN 0.2)
Number-portability: The TITAN AIN-NP service provides “Info_analyzed” TCAP query services per GR-2936 Core for number-portability correction.
Calling Party Identification (CPI): The TITAN AIN-CPI service gives carriers complete control over the delivery of CNAM services. Key functionality supported in the CPI application includes the ability to check multiple different local or external sources for CNAM data, the ability to dynamically filter out queries for specific destination carriers and the ability to direct CNAM data to multiple output devices (handset, TV, PC, etc.). The service conforms to GR-1188 Core Issue 2 - LSSGR: CLASSSM Feature: Calling Name Delivery Generic Requirements (FSD 01-02-1070).
CAMEL Application Part (CAP)
Number-portability: The TITAN CAP service supports a CAMEL phase 1 and phase 2 IDP proxy/relay function with integrated Circular Route Detection (CRD) that processes the IDP by performing a number portability check on the CAP Called Party Number (CdPN). If the number is ported, a routing prefix is added to the CdPN and the IDP is relayed toward a prepaid SCP.
Global Title Translation (SCCP/GTT)
The TITAN SCCP/GTT service provides a high capacity database for the efficient discovery of network resources utilizing SCCP GTT addressing techniques. A common use of the highly-scalable GTT service on the TITAN platform is subscriber-specific discovery of an HLR within a large mobile network. The service conforms to signaling control part procedures as defined by ITU-T documents Q.711 – 715 and ANSI specification T1.112 as documented in Telcordia GR 246 Core Issue 8.
Intelligent Network Application Part (INAP)
Number-portability: The TITAN INAP service conforms to 3GPP TS 23.066 V6.0.0 for IN-based INAP queries ITU INAP CS1 and CS2 with integrated Circular Route Detection (CRD) for number-portability. The service supports “Initial-DP” CS1, CS2, CS3 query as per ETSI - ETS 300 374-1 (1994-09), ETSI - EN 301 140-1 V1.3.4 (1999-06) and ETSI - EN 301 931-2 V1.1.2 (2001-09). The service processes the IDP by performing a number portability check on the INAP Called Party Number (CdPN). If the number is ported, a routing prefix added to the CdPN and an INAP.CONNECT is sent. For non-ported/ported-in numbers an INAP.CONTINUE is sent. The service additionally supports an INAP proxy/relay function that processes the IDP by performing a number portability check on the INAP Called Party Number (CdPN). If the number is ported, a routing prefix is added to the CdPN and the IDP is relayed toward a prepaid SCP.
ISDN User Part (ISUP)
Number-portability: The TITAN ISUP service conforms to the Number Portability specifications outlined in the Q.76x series as defined by the ITU for the setup of telephone calls within Wireline and Wireless networks, as well as between Wireline and Wireless Networks. The service supports Number Portability Query - prefixing of steering digits as specified in Q.769.1 as well as the ability do an initial search against a list of “Blacklisted” numbers prior to the Number Portability query. This service is supported via SIGTRAN/M3UA only.
Mobile Application Part (MAP)
Signaling Relay Function (SRF): The TITAN MAP-SRF service conforms to 3GPP TS 23.066 V6.0.0 for delivering mobile number portability (MNP) functionality using Mobile Application Part (v1, v2, v3) call related (SRI, ATI_MNPInfo) and non-call related (SRI_SM, ATI) messages. Circular Route Detection (CRD) is supported for all SRF message types. See also ETSI EN 301 716 v7.3.1 (2000-10).
Equipment Identity Registry (EIR): The TITAN MAP-EIR service provides GSM compliant handset theft fraud detection services. TITAN MAP-EIR provides for real-time lookup of IMEIs associated with stolen mobile phones. EIR can either be provisioned by the operator or connected to the IMEI DB provided by the GSM Association.
Mobile Originated Forward Short Message (MO-FWD-SM): The mobile originated forward short message service provides calling party screening to prevent unauthorized usage of the SMS-SC and subscriber based routing of messages to the appropriate SMS-SC. The implementation is based on the following 3GPP standards:
- TS 29.002 V6.4.0 Mobile Application Part (MAP) Specification
- TS 23.040 V6.3.0 Technical realization of the Short Message Service (SMS)
Personal Communications Service (PCS-1900)
Number-portability: The TITAN PCS-1900 service conforms to “Provide Instructions Start” TCAP query per ANSI T1-708 and 114.
Wireless Intelligent Network (IS-41)
Number-portability: The TITAN IS-41 service conforms to “NPREQ” TCAP query per TIA/EIA-756-A and TIA/EIA-41D.
