TITAN Server
The NetNumber Transactional IP Telephony Addressing and Numbering (TITAN) Server represents the core of an Operator’s next-generation addressing infrastructure. TITAN Server software enables an Operator to provide both ENUM service discovery applications as well as legacy SS7/C7 number translation services (portability, GTT, etc.) on the same set of physical Master and Edge servers. For more information, contact NetNumber to request a copy of the document: “NetNumber TITAN Overview”.
- The Master Server provides the centralized database for ENUM data and portability data within an Operator’s network. The Master provides a set of standardized interfaces for the provisioning of ENUM and portability data, and it is responsible for the replication of its database to multiple Edge servers.
- The Edge Server provides a highly efficient and cost-effective query infrastructure for the discovery of any number of services associated with an E.164 number or block of numbers. Secure, multi-protocol query services supported by the TITAN Edge include: DNS, ENUM, SIP and SS7/C7 over SIGTRAN (AIN 0.2, IS-41, PCS-1900, GSM/MAP).
Each NetNumber TITAN Server is composed of services that are configured according to the platform’s dedicated purpose as either a Master or Edge server. NetNumber provides reference implementations of Master and Edge servers on Solaris and Red-Hat LINUX. The following diagram illustrates the high-level service architecture
